What is pH Down?
“pH” is a term used to tell how acidic (corrosive) or alkaline (scale-forming) a given sample of water is.

The pH scale ranges from 1 to 14. A pH of 7 is neutral.  The pH range for pools is 7.4 to 7.6.

If the pH is too high, scaling can occur, forming abrasive deposits on pool surfaces, plugging sand filters, reducing circulation by depositing scale inside piping and causing cloudy pool water.

Using pH Down lowers the pH of pool water into the correct and proper pH ranges, preventing scaling from taking place.

When do I add pH Down?
Test the pool water with a reliable test kit.  Add pH Down if the pH range is above 7.6.

Dosage Rates
Read the directions on the back of the container used.  Add the recommended dosage for your size pool.

When can I use the pool?
Wait at least one hour before using the pool.
